Foothills Publishing

Who We Are

Foothills Publishing is a Siliguri-based independent publishing house committed to amplifying diverse voices, especially those that have long remained on the margins. We focus on stories that reflect the complexities and richness of our region—its people, landscapes, struggles, and dreams. From tales rooted in the everyday lives of women and children to narratives that explore overlooked histories and lived realities, our mission is to publish work that resonates, challenges, and endures. We welcome writers of all backgrounds—emerging or established, young or old—who write in English and are passionate about storytelling. At Foothills, we believe that everyone has a story worth telling, and every story has the power to connect, provoke, and transform. By creating a space for underrepresented perspectives, especially from the Eastern Himalayas and beyond, we hope to foster a more inclusive and vibrant literary landscape.
